At the beginning of the pleasure work I do, I always invite participants to take stock of their current relationship with pleasure. On the homepage of my website, I have a survey called Take your Pleasure Pulse. It’s intended to help you think about pleasure, and your relationship with it, more deeply and broadly. On the survey is a link to what I’ve named “Pleasure Profiles,” which will help you identify where you are on the continuum of embracing pleasure.
Take a Light Approach to Pleasure
Both the survey and the profiles are meant to be a playful look at the topic because really, how helpful is it to be too serious about pleasure?
By taking stock and having a reality check about pleasure and assessing your openness to it, a first step can be taken towards a richer, fuller relationship with pleasure.
Uncover Your Doubts, Fears and Limited Beliefs About Pleasure
Let’s face it – most of us don’t have to dig too deep to uncover doubts, fears and misconceptions about pleasure. We live in an atmosphere that’s pretty ambivalent on the topic. We don’t fully trust pleasure. We don’t know if it’s okay to have a healthy daily dose of it, and we’re pretty unaware of the healing effects of pleasure, and pleasure as a doorway to wellbeing and wholeness.
Through intention and a commitment to learn about the deeper aspects of pleasure, and to welcome it into our lives, we can move along that continuum of unlocking pleasure. The first step is to take in where you are now. Are you happy with that? Would you like something to be different? First, identify what’s not working so you can move to make pleasure work for you.
Receive Support to Unlock Your Pleausure
My online Unlock Pleasure Program will start the end of September, and we will begin with this first step of taking stock. The five-module program will support your change process with pleasure. I hope you will consider joining the group.

“Forefront Psychotherapy had Madeline present a morning workshop called Unlock Pleasure for our counselling centre’s open house. Her presentation was innovative and captivating. She brought forward the information in a way that appealed to new and seasoned therapists alike. Her presentation style put the audience at ease and she kept each one of us captivated for the duration of her talk. We would highly recommend Madeline to any group looking for a speaker.”
