Unlock Pleasure ~ An On-line ~ Five Module Program February 10th, March 2, 23, April 13, & May 4th, 2020.. Monday Evenings ~ 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Using the Zoom meeting platform for the on-line gatherings
Five Modules – Five Monday Evenings
A pacing that provides space in-between the modules to experiment and deepen your pleasure practice
What the Program Is About: Pleasure is a frequently misunderstood concept, and many people have ambivalent feelings about pleasure. And yet pleasure is one of our healthiest and necessary human instincts. Pleasure supports healing, increases resiliency and well-being, as well it supports a mindset shift from worry and lack, to ease, confidence, and increased creativity – what are called the “Hallmarks of Pleasure”.
Who is This Program For?
Is pleasure on your radar? Are you just waking up to the reality that you want to increase your capacity for pleasure?
Do you want to release inherited negative stereotypes and hang-ups about pleasure?
You’re in a process of trauma recovery and have you been hearing about the power of pleasure as a resource for building resiliency and wellbeing, while toning down stress?
Are you wanting support to connect the dots between the everyday pleasures, your sexuality and a spirituality perspective? That’s radical - I know!
If you said yes to one or more of the questions above, this program is relevant for you.
What you can expect to gain from your participation?
• Raise the glass ceiling on your capacity to create a life orientated by pleasure.
• Gain a thorough education about pleasure; pleasure is an misunderstood concept – Learn why you need to know more about it; what it can do for you; understand pleasure in its broader definition?
• Build personal resiliency through an on-going focus on and use of pleasure.
• A process and a group to support you to be consistent in practices long enough for real change to be imprinted – this time we’re focused on Pleasure, but you will learn a process that can be applied to any aspect of yourself and your life, that you’d like to be different. In this group, you will learn tools for change and in the three month duration be supported to be constant – to be dedicated to constructiveness and positivity.
• Learn how to work with the parts of yourself that don’t yet know pleasure is a good thing, and a necessary element that will create more ease in your life. We might name these parts as the Grinch, the Naysayer, the one who carries the shame, the angry, resentful one, the one who’s attached to being the victim - all these parts can get brought out of hiding and worked with, as you experience moving the dial on your pleasure capacity from 0-10!
Here’s What Participants Have Said About the Work:
Thank you Madeline for the beautiful work you do and the way you delivered it to us here in Israel. It was not only the deep spiritual understanding of pleasure and of the medicine in pleasure that you brought – it is the healing, peaceful, essence of your being which lingers on after you yourself have left. I feel so enriched with it, stronger, and most appreciative of what you planted into our community. It was a pleasure to study and experience and be with you. Elya, Israel
About the Creator of The Unlock Pleasure Process –
Madeline Dietrich M.A. S.E.P., Pathwork Helper, Teacher, Trainer. Ottawa, Canada.
Pleasure is commonly held to be a prime motivator for all human beings. For sure it’s an instinct we all have. We’re drawn to the even the possibility of pleasure. Yet when the word is spoken aloud, I notice it generates a wide range of powerful responses – curiosity, pent up longing, fear, discomfort, ambivalence, and sometimes down right resistance.
I got curious about our collective unease with pleasure, and how that might be shifted. As a seasoned therapist, spiritual counsellor and teacher, working with individuals and groups for over 25 years, in Canada and internationally, I want to support you to shift to greater ease with pleasure. The process of Unlock Pleasure will help you uncover and work with your misconceptions and unconscious beliefs regarding pleasure. I’ve created teachings and tools that will broaden your understanding and behaviour around pleasure, and support you to embrace pleasure for its power to build greater resiliency and wellbeing.
How Does the Program Work?
Five Distinct Modules – Five Live, On-line Learning Circles - Held over three months with time to integrate between the modules; in a small group, only 12 students, so each person gets some personal attention, and everyone can learn from, and support each other. Prior to each module you will receive reading and reflective questions to help you prepare for each session.
An e-book is provided to support your on-going learning.
Module I -. February 10. 2020. Monday Eve
Assess Your Current Relationship to Pleasure? Identify and address your misconceptions and unconscious blocks to pleasure.
Module 2 – March 2, 2020. Monday Eve - Setting an Intention Towards Pleasure - Employing the power of intention to create a positive and pro-active relationship with Pleasure.
Module 3 - March 23, 2020. Monday Eve. Pleasure is an In the Body Experience – To fully reap the benefits of pleasure, pleasure has to be more than a “good idea”. It has to register in your body through tuning into your senses, and noticing its ability to experience the Hallmarks of Pleasure which are calm, ease, expansion, confidence, increased creativity and resiliency.
Module 4 - April 13th, 2020 Monday Eve.. Broadening your Expression of Pleasure – what is really pleasurable for you? This module supports you to expand your ideas about pleasure, and discover its unique meaning for you. This focus frees you from the bombardment of popular culture, that constantly tells us what pleasure “should” be.
Module 5 - May 4th, 2020. Monday Eve. Integration and Next Steps – This module supports you to take your experience in the learning circle deeper into daily practice and supports you to further empower your commitment to a pleasure orientated life.
While this first level of the learning will focus on enhancement of what I call “the everyday pleasures”, we will touch on how this learning can positively impact your sexual expression, and experience, as well as the possibility of pleasure becoming a very legitimate aspect of your spiritual evolution.
Each module includes - teaching, interactive time in small groups, guided meditation, group discussion. Resources to support the integration of the concepts and practices
Here’s what participants have said about the pleasure work:
“Madeline offers a safe space to explore what it is that blocks our capacity to live in pleasure. She supports us to recognize our unhealthy associations with pleasure, so we can finally open up to that which provides real power, serenity and love.” Benoît Cazabon, author, professor, and coach. Gatineau, Quebec.
What Informs the Unlock Pleasure Project?
The Unlock Pleasure project draws from a number of sources that are integrated into a unique blend of concepts and practices to support you to embrace pleasure as the resource it can be for building greater resiliency and wellbeing. The Pathwork Guide Lectures; Somatic Experiencing and the Positive Psychology Movement are the primary sources.
I also draw on my many years of experience as a somatic based therapist and group facilitator on the topics of psychology and spirituality, sexuality, trauma, and personal development. The work is also informed by my own life journey that includes recovery from trauma and loss, and shifting a mindset from one of struggle, to one of joy, greater resiliency and creativity, and not the least positive pleasure.
Here’s what participants have said about the pleasure work:
Madeline combines her experience as a gifted teacher and facilitator with her exquisite sensitivity to guide us into unlocking pleasure. In her gentle way, she helps us to make friends with our bodies, softening the places where we feel resistance, shame and pain and learn how to tune into the myriad sensations of pleasure. She embodies her teaching and the expression of her own pleasure is contagious. Madeline creates a safe space to (re)discover that we are wired for pleasure and can overcome the negative conditioning of fear, trauma, and messages of “not good enough”. Ingrid Shirrholz, Senior Faculty. Pathwork Vermont, Burlington, Vermont

“I had signed up for the workshop with a vague idea of validating whether or not beekeeping was something I wanted to get back into, so wanted the real experience and ‘instruction’ around hive life. But I also wanted to spend time in the imaginative life of beekeeping – so the poetry, and your story of bees as a significant part of your healing journey was really important. Sensing into your relationship with them - the calm, the respect, the love – was an important part of witnessing how a relationship with bees teaches those very things. I loved how the different activities dove-tailed so well into one another. The ‘energy meditation’ of approaching the hive taught me well about respect for boundaries, and the deep purposefulness of their lives. We can co-exist beautifully as long as I ‘let them bee.’ “
